Find an OpenWrt router for your setup
Start with the ports and firmware you need. This is a hardware comparison, not a throughput guarantee. No prices or measured performance are verified in this catalog; a strict budget or VPN/SQM target can therefore return no match.

Use the factual table below. Check the exact variant and current support source, draw separate WAN and LAN connections, then verify every required part. For a multi-gigabit RJ45 WAN/LAN pair, OpenWrt One is excluded by its 1GbE LAN port. BPI-R4 SFP modules are not validated here. Use the buying guide for the manual decision path.

Methodology and limits
Hard constraints are applied first: firmware, freshness, Ethernet and Wi-Fi evidence, independent physical ports, setup comfort, reviewed performance and complete budget. Eligible hardware is ordered by documented support (40), workload measurements (25), setup fit (15), known value (10) and preference fit (10), with a stable device-ID tie-break. Unknowns earn no evidence points. Commissions never enter the engine. No public numeric quality score is implied.
Firmware legend: upstream stable means a device-specific release image exists; vendor only means a different firmware path; snapshot means experimental development. Unsupported and unknown are never positive matches. Documentary verification is not physical testing. Support must be reviewed every 30 days; prices every 7 days. Build dates never refresh evidence dates.
An external access point is a separate build. OpenWrt is not a full Linux container host. OpenWrt or a full Linux distribution?
For advanced VLAN builds: Plan guest and IoT network separation
